About Phuket
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, situated
on the western coast about 600 km southwest of Bangkok
and under the territorial waters of Andaman Sea in the
Indian Ocean. The total area is 543 square kilometers;
it is about the same size as Singapore. The widest part,
measured from the East end to the West end is 21.3 km.,
the longest part from the North end to the South end
is 48.7 km. It is administratively divided into 3 districts:
Muang, Thalang, and Kathu District.
Phuket has a tropical monsoon climate. The temperature
is warm all year around; the average temperature varies
from 20°C to 36 °C.
